Anna Terry

Chief Executive Officer Jersey Community Foundation

Anna is CEO of the Jersey Community Foundation (JCF) and played a key role in setting up the Foundation and establishing its grant-giving programme. JCF has provided a grant to support the establishment of the Island Research Repository.

Anna is Jersey-born but lived and worked in London for over a decade. She has worked in the Charitable sector since 2009 and has recently completed a Master's in Philanthropic Studies which focused on advancing a broad range of philanthropic topics, with an emphasis on driving best practice in the operation of charitable foundations, alongside advising donors and the analysis of philanthropic practices around the world.

JCF commissioned an Island wide Needs Assessment in 2022, and it was during this process that they discovered how challenging it was to find local research and data. The Needs Assessment provides tangible, relevant, recent data to allow JCF to better inform donors of the issues and opportunities in Jersey, helping to set their funding priorities. The understanding of local needs through research and data will form the basis for a strong, evidence-based approach to JCF’s grant giving.

Dr Sean Dettman

Director Jersey International Centre of Advanced Studies

Sean was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois and studied History and Literature at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater (B.A.) before undertaking his postgraduate work at the School of Advanced Studies, University of London. In 2018, Sean was appointed director of the Jersey International Centre of Advanced Studies (JICAS) where he undertakes a number of different roles and responsibilities. His main research interests are 20th Century Anglo-American political and social history, 'New Deal islands' and immigration, race and labour. Sean lives in Jersey with his Wife Natasha (nee Hill) and his two children Frankie and Cal.

Dr Moyra Journeaux

Postgraduate Programme Manager/Lead for MSc programmes

Dr Moyra Journeaux is Postgraduate Programme Manager and leads the MSc degree programmes in the HCS Higher Education Department, based in the Harvey Besterman Education Centre, Jersey. Moyra has a demonstrated history of lecturing at undergraduate and postgraduate degree level, mainly within the discipline of health and social care. She completed a PG Cert in Academic Practice at Southampton University, and an MSc Advanced Surgical Practice followed by a Doctorate in Education at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd. Moyra is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an accredited External Examiner. Moyra is the current chair of the HCS Research Ethics Committee.

Interests: research, ethics, social history, social policy, history of nurse education, belongingness, student identity, lecturer identity and disciplinary power. Moyra used the historical context of nurse education in Jersey as the focus of research exploring student identity and the role that disciplinary power has in shaping this. The study site included the wider social space where nurse education occurred in the School of Nursing in Jersey, Channel Islands from 1924-2015 and the social influences on how students develop an identity.

Moyra is a recipient of the 2023 Award of Merit for services to the Royal College of Nursing. She currently externally examines for Cardiff University, Edgehill University and the University of the West of Scotland.

Paul Watson

Operations Manager at Les Amis

Paul holds a Social Work qualification and a BA (Hon) in Comparative Welfare from Northumbria University, as well as completing postgraduate studies in psychology at Sunderland University. Paul is an activist for positive social change, driven by his unwavering passion for enhancing the lives of disabled and vulnerable communities.

Paul's dedication to social justice extends well beyond his professional sphere. He has held key positions as a Director, Trustee, and initiator of several different charities. Paul currently dedicates his expertise to the charity and not-for-profit sector.

His vision and determination are shaping a brighter and more inclusive future for all, exemplifying the transformative power of dedication to the betterment of society.

Dr Patricia Tumelty

Executive Director Mind Jersey

Tricia qualified as a mental health nurse in Dublin. She initially worked in a child and adolescent mental health unit before moving to East London to work in an acute mental health admission unit. Since moving to Jersey, she has worked with individuals and families across the States and the Voluntary Sector in hospital and community settings and, most recently, within the Children Young People Education and Skills (CYPES) Department.

Tricia gained an MSc in Systemic Family Therapy at the University of Southampton in 2001 and became a UKCP registered psychotherapist with a particular interest in social justice and the impact of inequalities on people’s mental health and family life. Co-founder of charities Brighter Futures and the Jersey Association of Family Therapy charities. In 2018 she gained a professional doctorate in Mental health and wellbeing at the University of Wolverhampton. Taking on the role of Executive Director at Mind Jersey was an opportunity to draw on her learning and mistakes and work with others to encourage services to view people’s problems within the context of their lives.

Rosemarie Finley

Chief Executive Officer Family Nursing & Home Care

Rosemarie began her career with a variety of nursing roles and has more than thirty years of experience in the healthcare sector – she has held a number of senior leadership positions within NHS trusts, the charitable sector and within healthcare publishing, including Chief Executive Officer at St Barnabas House Hospice, Chestnut Tree House Hospice, Epilepsy Society and Myeloma UK. Prior to working in the charitable healthcare sector Rosemarie worked in the NHS as Associate Director of Education, Research and Development, Associate Chief Nurse, Associate Director of Operations and prior to this Publishing Director for Emap Healthcare. Rosemarie completed her BA (Hons) Nursing Studies in Sheffield, UK and went on to do a post graduate diploma in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing at South Bank University, London and then completed her Masters in Health Management at City University, London.

Rosemarie is passionate about providing high quality, evidence based community health care and is keen to support collaborative solutions to achieve the best health outcomes for islanders.
