Low income in Jersey

This discussion paper brings together available statistics and research in a form designed to facilitate an informed discussion about the nature of low income in Jersey and policy options for addressing the issue. The paper draws heavily on two documents – • A House of Commons Briefing Paper Poverty in the UK: statistics, an excellent analysis not just of the statistics but also of the causes of poverty. • A Statistics Jersey report Jersey Household Income Distribution 2021 – 2022, which has comprehensive relevant Jersey statistics and
analysis. The paper takes accounts of comments from a number of people and the discussion at a roundtable event held on 12 March 2024.
